THE HOLY BYZANTINE CATHOLIC ORTHODOX  CHURCH
La Iglesia Bizantina Catolica Ortodoxa       /        Le Saint Église Bizantine Catholique Orthodoxe
A TRADITIONAL COMMUNITY
Greetings in our Lord’s Name,

Thank you for your interest in joining the Holy Byzantine Catholic Orthodox Church via Full
Communion, Canonical Transfer or Inter-Communion.

The Holy Synod because of problems with jurisdictions that claim to be Orthodox and yet
do not accept or incorporate the fundamental doctrines of Orthodoxy has placed the
following requirements in order to assist Heterodox and independent jurisdictions to
embrace the Holy Church:

                                    ***************

Communion:

If Jurisdiction or Community makes a request to enter into Communion with the
Holy Byzantine Catholic Orthodox Church they will be sent a letter requesting that they
confirm to the fundamental doctrines and beliefs of Orthodoxy, and if they do then they
will be permitted to enter into a one year Interim Statues before entering into Full
Communion. The year of Interim Statues will permit both Jurisdictions to make a lasting
commitment by the gathering of Primates in order to prevent any future problems and at
the same time allow for a smoother transition.

Only those Orthodox Clergy who are in full canonical members of the Church can vote in a
canonical synod.

Other bishops in inter communion with the Church may with the Metropolitan's permission,
attend the synod as observers.

Canonical Transfer

Any member of Heterodox Jurisdictions if requesting to Canonically Transfer will need to
serve as a sub-deacon while he takes courses in the Seminary in order for then to
understand and accept the fundamental doctrines and beliefs of Orthodoxy. The candidate
will need to pass verbal and written examinations in order for the Synod to be convinced
that they have accepted the faith 100%. This process is crucial in order to purge all
heresies that if are allowed to remain will cause separation within the clergy and members
of the Church.

Inter-Communion:

Inter-communion" means that the believer of one faith (religion) receives communion
(Eucharist) in another faith (religion) while attending their service.

If a jurisdiction or community makes a request to enter into Inter-Communion it will be sent
a letter requesting that they conform to the fundamental doctrines and beliefs of
Orthodoxy, especially the belief in the actual transformation of the wine and bread into the
Body and Body of our Lord Jesus Christ. If it does then it will be permitted to enter into a
six month interim statues that will lead into an Inter-Communion Concordat with the
Church. The interim statues will permit both jurisdictions to make a lasting commitment
before entering into Inter-Communion without future problems that can be detrimental to
the Church.

If it does not qualify because it does not hold the fundamental doctrines and beliefs of
Orthodoxy, especially the belief in the actual transformation of the wine and bread into the
Body and Body of our Lord Jesus Christ, then it will be invited to enter into a Round Table
Council were it may interact with one another’s Bishops and hopefully walk towards
accepting the fundamental doctrines and beliefs of Orthodoxy, especially the belief in the
actual transformation of the wine and bread into the Body and Body of our Lord Jesus
Christ. Only by speaking with one another can we be able to answer any questions and
assist those that are interested in learning about Orthodoxy be able to embrace the Faith.

Bishops in inter-communion with the Church may, with the Metropolitan's permission,
attend the synod as observers.
